About My Community
My Community Bahamas was founded in 2019 by ten (10) residents of West Grand Bahama who joined together in establishing the organization.
These ten (10) residents decided to elect Board of Directors to serve the membership in deciding policy, conducting governance, and keeping My Community effective in pursuing our key mission to the residents of West Grand Bahama.
As My Community’s highest governing body, the Board consists of 10 members, five of whom stand for election every two (2) years.
OUR VISION
The Vision of My Community is to be the conduit to restoring Growth, Pride, and Strength (GPS) to communities throughout The Bahamas.
OUR MISSION
The Mission of My Community is to bring community lovers together to restore one community at a time, through neighborly love and support, rebuilding projects, empowerment opportunities and access to skills training. We exist on the strength of unity to create sustainable green environments and pride for infinite generations.
My Community is Organically Building Relationships
with churches, local businesses, civic and social clubs, as well as government agencies; to ensure that we reach anyone who would like to see West Grand Bahama cleaned, rebuilt and the citizenry empowered. The strength of My Community lies in its strong Public Private Partnerships.
The Organization in Partnership with government agencies and
civic clubs are committed to going beyond the traditional cleanup campaign/community cleanup project to shared responsibility and pride in the rebuilding and upkeep of our community by community members long-term.
